Gordon Freedman, Vice President of Education Strategy, Blackboard Inc. Gordon Freedman develops education strategy for Blackboard, Inc, providing a voice for education within Blackboard and serving as a bridge between Blackboard and the education and industry communities externally. Gordon has worked extensively within higher education and K12 education corporations, institutions, foundations, and with the textbook industry. Gordon is a board member of the Fairfax County, VA School Foundation and an advisor to the North American Council of Online Learning. He has provided advice to the US Department of Education Office of Educational Technology, the American Museum of National History, and TERC, a K12 research institute. Gordon is co-founder of the International School of Monterey, a California charter school, and part of the team developing the University of California Online Academy, a charter school of the University of California and Imperial County CA. Gordon speaks regularly at education industry conferences and has been published in a variety of national, local and trade outlets on the use of technology to transform education to the demands of the information age.
