Graeme Smith Vice President, SEI Europe As Vice President of SEI's European business operations, Dr. Graeme Smith plays a key role in establishing a strong business and technology infrastructure to support SEI's European subsidiary. Dr. Smith is responsible for day-to-day development and growth of SEI's business in Europe, ensuring that SEI's high standards for quality and service are maintained, as well as cultivating relationships with new and existing SEI clients. Dr. Smith has extensive experience in both European business operations and the management of large support organizations. Before joining SEI, he worked at Ford Motor Company for 13 years and was Director of Ford's Telematics Support Services subsidiary as well as a member of the senior management team responsible for telematics product and service development. Dr. Smith was a key architect of the Peugeot/Renault/Ford joint-venture Signant, which developed pan-European telematics to provide drivers with onboard communication, safety, and information/entertainment services. In addition, Dr. Smith served as Director of Ford's Wingcast venture, another telematics-related initiative based in Europe. He also participated in launching several start-up companies in the UK and Germany to support the Wingcast venture. Dr. Smith holds a Master of Business Administration from Henley Management College in England, and a Ph.D. in robotics and control systems from the University of Hertfordshire in England. He is also a Chartered Engineer and an active member of the Institute of Engineering Technology. |
