Mr. Phillips served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Young & Rubicam Advertising from 1999 to 2000, a global marketing and communications organization headquartered in New York. From 1997 to 1999, Mr. Phillips served as Chairman of Burson-Marsteller, a division of Young & Rubicam.
From 1965 to 1992, Mr. Phillips held various positions at Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, beginning with account management trainee and culminating in the positions of Chief Financial Officer, and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in 1989. Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide is a public company that was traded on the NASDAQ before being acquired by WPP Group in 1989. Ogilvy & Mather is one of the largest marketing communications networks today. The company works to market the brands of their multinational clients by combining local know-how with a worldwide network, that address local market needs while keeping the brands� universal identity.
British born, Mr. Phillips attended St. Edwards School in Oxford and then went to the Royal Air Force College in Cranwell. He has been an American citizen since 1973. |
