Grant S. Grayson Grant is a member of the American, Virginia, and Richmond Bar Associations, as well as the Business Law Section of the Virginia State Bar Association, and belongs to the Business and Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Law Sections of the American Bar Association. Grant also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of First Capital Bank. In 2001, Grant was voted the top business lawyer in Virginia by a statewide survey of attorneys conducted by Virginia Business Magazine. Read article He received his Juris Doctor from T.C. Williams School of Law in 1977. During law school he was a member of the McNeil Honor Society and the Moot Court Board, and he was winner of the Barnett Moot Court Competition in 1974. His undergraduate degree in economics (1974, Northwestern University) helped prepare him for his emphasis on corporate matters. Grant formerly served as president of Figgie Acceptance Corporation, an asset-based finance company with more than $150 million in assets; he also held the positions of corporate attorney and assistant secretary for the parent company, Figgie International, Inc. He began his legal career as an attorney with A.H. Robins Company, and later he was counsel to the Richmond firm of Press, Jones, Waechter & Stoneburner. Grant gives seminars on financial issues involved in corporate practice and business workouts. He is a past chairman of the Corporate Counsel Section of the Richmond Bar Association.
