Gregory S. Bentley has been CEO of Bentley Systems since 2000, president since 1995, and chairman of the board since 1994. When he joined his four founding brothers at Bentley Systems in 1991, the company had 35 colleagues.
Bentley now has more than 2400 colleagues and annual revenues surpassing $400 million, and was named the Technology Company of the Year by the Eastern Technology Council in 2005. The company�s comprehensive portfolio for the building, plant, civil, and geospatial verticals
spans architecture, engineering, construction (AEC) and operations. Bentley is the leading
provider of AEC software to the Engineering News-Record Top Design Firms and major owner-
operators.
Prior to 1991, Mr. Bentley founded and served as CEO of Devon Systems International, Inc.,
a provider of financial trading software. In 1987, that company was acquired by SunGard Data
Systems, Inc. He served as a director of SunGard, one of the world�s largest IT vendors, from
1991 until its $11-billion+ going-private transaction in 2005. Mr. Bentley earned a bachelor's
degree in Decision Sciences in 1976 and an M.B.A. in Finance in 1977 from the Wharton School,
University of Pennsylvania. |
