Greg Fenton currently serves as the Director of Disaster Training and Technology for James Lee Witt Associates (JLWA). Mr. Fenton is assisting the University of Louisiana Lafayette in their bid to become a DHS National Center of Excellence for Disaster Management. He manages the JLWA training program focused on providing private companies, state and local, governments, law firms, hospitals, universities and other clients with disaster management training in the following areas: Executive Level Seminars, NIMS/ICS/NRP Training, Debris Management, Public Assistance and Hazard Mitigation. He is also working with several of our clients to bring new technologies into various emergency management areas to improve interoperability, information management and situational awareness.
Mr. Fenton comes to JLWA after a distinguished 20 year career in the United States Army. He brings a wide range of experience in the areas of operations, planning, information management and training. His last assignment was as an instructor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership at the United States Military Academy located at West Point, NY. Mr. Fenton held an array of assignments worldwide including service in the 7th Infantry Division (Light) in California, the 25th Infantry Division (Light) in Hawaii, the 1st Armored Division at Ft. Riley Kansas and the Joint Special Operation Task Force North (JSOTF-N) in Iraq. He has also served as Observer/Trainer at the Joint Readiness Training Center, Ft. Polk, Louisiana, and as an Instructor at the Joint Targeting School, Dam Neck, Virginia. After returning from Iraq, where he ran the Joint Fires Element for JSOTF-N, he was assigned as the Command and Control Division Chief for the Battle Command Training Program at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas. In that position, he helped to refine the organizational structure and staff procedures for Multi-National Force-Iraq (MNF-I), Multi-National Corps-Iraq (MNC-I) and Combined Joint Task Force-76 (CJTF-76) in Afghanistan to improve information flow between staff sections and facilitate better decision making.
Mr. Fenton has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Economics from United States Military Academy. He was selected as an Olmsted Scholar in 1993 to study abroad for two years. While in Brazil, he earned a Masters of Business Administration from Pontifical Universidade Catholica in Rio de Janeiro. He is also a graduate of the Army's Command and General Staff College, Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas and the Joint Forces Staff College, Norfolk Virginia.
