As Vice President and Corporate Counsel for PSI, Mr. Handschuh is responsible for all legal affairs of the company. A seasoned, senior attorney with years of experience in the technology industry, he has the breadth and depth of expertise required to support a global company partnering with the world's largest technology suppliers and competing with major corporations in complex markets. Additionally, he has a rich background in acquisitions, government affairs, public policy and trade issues.
Prior to joining PSI, Mr. Handschuh was Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary for Amdahl Corporation. Amdahl, a publicly traded company before its acquisition by Fujitsu Limited in 1997, was founded as a developer and manufacturer of large-scale IBM-compatible mainframes. In his capacity as General Counsel, Mr. Handschuh was responsible for, among other things, ensuring Amdahl's continued ability to compete in the marketplace. He played an active role in pursuing competition law issues before the European Commission and was also a public policy advocate for matters dealing with intellectual property and anti-trust issues in both the U.S. and Europe. This effort included Congressional committee testimony on bills affecting intellectual property and antitrust enforcement.
In addition, Mr. Handschuh has extensive international experience with hardware and software product distribution and marketing. His prior roles included global administrative management and active involvement in Amdahl/Fujitsu's mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures activities. Prior to joining Amdahl, Mr. Handschuh was a trial attorney with the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of Competition in Washington, D.C. In addition to his legal background Mr. Handschuh has held a number of computer related technical and managerial positions with such companies as Control Data Corporation, Chase Manhattan Bank, and Western Electric Company. Mr. Handschuh holds a J.D. degree from St. John's University in New York where he was editor for the Law Review. He holds a M.A. degree in Philosophy and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Detroit. |
