Greg Mason is responsible for CNET Networks' Business portfolio, which includes some of the leading websites for IT professionals and business decision makers. Greg is also responsible for leading the company's CNET Channel business, which offers e-business solutions to IT manufacturers, distributors, resellers and portals worldwide, providing them with the content, data, infrastructure and services they need to conduct frictionless ecommerce.
Greg joined CNET Networks in 2000 as the company's head of sales, industry marketing and business operations. In this role, with his extensive publishing background and strong client and agency relationships, Greg and his team contributed to the evolution of online advertising, spearheading the development of many of the ad formats that later became industry standards through the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB).
Greg has more than 15 years of experience in technology publishing and media. Before joining CNET Networks, he was the publisher of Smart Business (formerly PC Computing), at the time a Ziff Davis publication. During his tenure the magazine received two National Magazine Awards. Before that, he spent eight years at IDG's PC World communications, in various publishing and advertising posts.
Greg has an M.B.A. from the University of San Francisco and a B.A. from the University of Nevada, Reno.
Greg lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and three kids. In his spare time, he can be found road or mountain biking throughout Marin County, downhill skiing in the Sierra's and Rockies, or occasionally fitting in a round of golf. Greg and his wife share a passion for live music and attend many rock and alternative concerts throughout the Bay Area. |
