Dr. Risk is an emergency medicine residency trained, board certified physician. He currently serves as the Interim Director for Albemarle Hospital and as Southeast Regional Director. Dr. Risk is a member of the North Carolina Medical Society. He is a member of the Board of Directors, is the Secretary/Treasurer and a Councilor for the North Carolina Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He is a member of the American College of Physician Executives and the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine. He is also a member of the American Medical Association and the Society of US Army Flight Surgeons. Dr. Risk was on active duty for the United States Army from 1981-1984. He is currently a Flight Surgeon in the Army National Guard. Dr. Risk holds a Bachelor's degree from Indiana University School of Business and a Doctorate of Medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine. He performed his residency in the Emergency Department at Methodist Hospital of Indiana. He is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, a Diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine, and a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. |
