Gregory E. Poling is a Vice President of W. R. Grace & Co. and President of the Grace Davison operating segment. He was promoted to his current position in March 2005, after 28 years with Grace. He has responsibility for Grace Davison's Refining Technologies, Specialty Catalysts, Engineered Materials and Discovery Sciences product groups and manages Advanced Refining Technologies a joint venture between Grace and Chevron.
Grace Davison's products include catalysts and chemical additives used by petroleum refiners; hydroprocessing catalysts used to upgrade heavy oils into lighter products; specialty catalysts (including polyolefin catalysts and catalyst supports that are essential in the manufacture of polyethylene and polypropylene resins); silica-based and silica-alumina-based engineered materials; and, silica-based materials and chromatography columns, instruments, consumables and accessories used in life and analytical science applications.
Greg joined Grace's Construction Products division in 1977 and has held positions of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing and business development. In 1993, he was named Director of Marketing for cement and concrete products worldwide, where he was instrumental in acquiring and successfully integrating the Cormix business, which allowed Grace to expand its market penetration in the United Kingdom, Middle East and Asia. He was promoted to Vice President and General Manager for concrete products in 1995. After three years, he was named Vice President and General Manager of Grace Construction Products' worldwide cement, concrete, and masonry products businesses. In that position, he had responsibility for the strategic development of the businesses, as well as sales, technical service and manufacturing operations. In August 1999, he was appointed to Vice President and General Manager of silica products worldwide. His most recent position was President of Grace Davison's specialty materials business.
Greg graduated from Denison University with a B.S. in History and has completed the MIT Sloan School of Management executive program and the Babson College entrepreneurial management program.
