Gregory Lavorgna Biography :

Gregory J. Lavorgna is a managing partner of the firm, with over 25 years� experience in intellectual property law. Greg concentrates his practice on assisting clients in protecting, enforcing and capitalizing on their intellectual property assets, and advises clients on issues of patentability, patent infringement and patent validity; trademark availability, registrability and infringement; copyright registration and infringement; trade secret protection and employee agreements; and licensing. Greg also litigates intellectual property disputes.

Greg�s clients range from individual inventors and startup entrepreneurial ventures to major corporations, involving a wide range of technologies.

In General. Greg earned his law degree from Temple University School of Law, which he attended while employed as an engineer with General Electric Company, and graduated cum laude. He received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and his master's degree in electrical engineering from Drexel University. While an undergraduate at Drexel, he worked for RCA Corporation doing research in optical recording technology using lasers. Following graduation, he remained at RCA as a member of the engineering staff. Greg moved from RCA to General Electric Company, where he developed design and testing specifications for electronic devices, and worked closely with vendors and customers. His experience as an engineer gives Greg a thorough appreciation for the problems facing clients, and the context for fashioning effective solutions to those problems in both counseling and litigation.

Greg is a member of the bars of Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia, and is admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. He is also registered as a patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Greg is author or co-author of several publications, including What the General Practitioner Should Know About Patent Law and Practice, Fifth and Sixth Editions, published by the American Law Institute - American Bar Association Committee on Continuing Professional Education, and many articles published in legal and professional journals.

Greg is a member of the prestigious American Law Institute, for which he has planned and presented several continuing professional education courses in intellectual property law. He has also participated as a speaker in intellectual property programs for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and Temple University. Greg has taught intellectual property law at Temple University, and was an adjunct faculty member at Eastern University, where he taught courses in business ethics.

Greg is listed in America�s Leading Lawyers for Business, published by Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America, and Who�s Who in America, and has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer by Philadelphia Magazine.
