Gregory J. Osberg has been executive vice president/worldwide publisher of Newsweek since October 2000. He is responsible for all advertising sales and marketing activities for Newsweek, including the magazine's U.S. and international editions and its web site, Newsweek.com on MSNBC.com.
Osberg previously worked for Newsweek from 1990 to 1997, as associate advertising director and then vice president/associate publisher. He left Newsweek in October 1997 to become president of sales and marketing for CNET, where he directed advertising sales, strategic development, and marketing for both CNET: The Computer Network and CNET's online service, Snap! Online.
Osberg left CNET in 1999 to become president of Kaplan Professional and shortly thereafter was named the founding president of BrassRing.com, an Internet recruitment-services company that is owned by Kaplan, Inc., the education subsidiary of The Washington Post Company, The Tribune Co., Gannett, and Accel Partners.
Osberg's previous publishing experience includes U.S. News & World Report, where he served as vice president of advertising sales for eight years. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Internet Advertising Bureau and on the marketing committee of the Magazine Publishers of America. He currently serves on the worldwide leadership council for the College of Business at Colorado State University.
