Scott Thomas manages Cirrus Logic's legal department and business development function and advises the company on a wide range of legal and business issues, including intellectual property matters. Mr. Thomas first joined Cirrus as vice president and associate general counsel in January 2001, and assumed the role of its general counsel and corporate secretary in December 2003.Coupled with a decade of legal experience, Mr. Thomas gained four years engineering experience while employed at Texas Instruments and AT&T Bell Laboratories. In the mid-to-late 1990s, he served as an intellectual property attorney at Arnold, White & Durkee, specializing in complex technology-related litigation for corporate clients such as Adtran, 3M and Ericsson. Mr. Thomas joined Thompson & Knight in Austin, Texas in 2000, to assist in the establishment of its new intellectual property division; his consultancy relationship with Cirrus Logic began during this time.Mr. Thomas attained a J.D. degree from the University of Texas School of Law, a MSEE from Rice University, and a BSEE from Virginia Tech. |
