Gregory Giangrande is chief human resources officer of Dow Jones & Company where he is responsible for talent-development, employee engagement, labor relations, compensation, benefits, HR systems and all aspects of the company's HR efforts world-wide.
A senior vice president, Mr. Giangrande, reports to Les Hinton, the chief executive officer of Dow Jones. He joined the company on March 3, 2008.
Prior to that, Mr. Giangrande held the position of senior vice president and chief human resources officer at HarperCollins publishing group for nine years. There he shaped a top-class organization that operated in close partnership with all divisions of the company.
Mr. Giangrande previously held leadership positions in HR at Hearst, Conde Nast and Random House. Beyond Human Resources, he has undergraduate and graduate degrees in journalism and communications from New York University and started and ran a community newspaper in the New York City area. He taught communications at NYU for 20 years and did a stint in television news production.
