Mr. Thaler has extensive experience providing consulting services and quantifying economic damages and lost earnings. His experience includes preparing business interruption claims and calculating economic damages in employment litigation and other commercial litigation matters.
He has prepared multimillion dollar property and business interruption claims for hotels, casinos, retail stores, manufacturers, high technology companies (including computer hardware, software and components), oil refineries, seaports and airports, financial institutions, food producers and others. Prior to joining LECG, Mr. Thaler was the associate national director of business insurance claims consulting at Deloitte & Touche. He is a frequent speaker at insurance conferences, has published insurance articles and has been quoted in the insurance press. Mr. Thaler has testified in trial and deposition regarding insurance claims and other matters.
On employment litigation and wage & hour matters, Mr. Thaler has assisted attorneys and other clients by providing consulting services and preparing damages calculations. His experience includes managing time and motion or observational studies for managerial exemption cases, and managing massive databases for meal and rest break, hours worked, and overtime cases. Mr. Thaler's employment litigation experience includes retail, fast food, office environments, call centers, professional sports, and seaports.
Mr. Thaler also has experience quantifying damages in a variety of commercial litigation maters including disputes involving intellectual property, fraud investigations, antitrust, and environmental contamination.
Mr. Thaler graduated from Cornell University with a BA in economics. He also has an MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell. |
