Guenter is one of today's renowned engineers and researchers in the information technology and networking industries. He combines a scholar's passion for empirical research, a brilliant engineer's uncanny attention to detail, and Yoda's the master of the Force and teacher of the Jedi gift of wisdom for focusing on the essential. Guenter comes to Teak by way of Symantec Research Laboratories (Veritas Software acquisition) where he focused on some key aspects of software technology including virtual machines, fault tolerance, compilers, operating systems, and systems architecture/design. Previously Guenter was Director of Cable Video Software Engineering at Cisco Systems and had contributed to the development of products that have powered the expansion of the Internet infrastructure including integration of Cisco's digital video technology into IP networks, and the DOCSIS compliant cable modem termination system (CMTS). Prior to Cisco, Mr. Roeck had led the development of a multi-protocol router as Director of Engineering for Conware GmbH in Germany. Previously, Guenter had co-founded Generics GmbH and had served as its Vice President of Engineering in leading the development of a Germanized version of the UNIX operating system. Guenter holds multiple patents in broadband technologies and a MS in Informatics from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany. |
