Hal M. Krisbergh is a long-time cable television executive and noted visionary, well known for his knowledge of broadband cable technology. He is Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of WorldGate Communications, Inc. WorldGate is a technology leader in the development of interactive television ("ITV") products and services. Its primary business was refocused in 2003 toward a new opportunity it had developed in video telephony. The company recently introduced a high-quality Personal Video Phone under the OjoTM brand name.
Prior to forming WorldGate, Mr. Krisbergh was President of the Communications Division of General Instrument (now Motorola Broadband Communications Sector). He was responsible for all set-top converters, satellite reception equipment, and broadband distribution transmission equipment. Under Krisbergh's watch, ventures such as Music Choice were founded. He was instrumental in the introduction and development of technologies like Pay Per View, Video on Demand, fiber optic electronics, digital compression, digital set-top technology, and the digital radio technology now being utilized by Music Choice. During his tenure, revenues grew from $200 million to $1.4 billion and market share from 30 percent to 65 percent.
In earlier roles, Mr. Krisbergh was president of a consumer electronics division at W.R. Grace, a consultant at Deloitte & Touche and a broadband engineer at Raytheon Corporation. He earned his BSEE degree from the City College of New York and earned his MBA from Boston University. |
