Halliday Moncure Merrick practices primarily in the areas of commercial and complex litigation and is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the Federal Circuit, as well as all Virginia state courts.
Mrs. Merrick has briefed a variety of legal issues during all stages of both the federal and state civil litigation processes, as well as numerous appeals. She has represented both businesses and individuals in various areas of commercial and complex litigation, including breach of contract, intellectual property, corporate governance, real property, and domestic relations.
Personal Background:
Mrs. Merrick received her law degree from the University of Richmond T.C. Williams School of Law graduating cum laude. At Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, magna cum laude and was selected as a Wheaton Fellow.
Prior to joining DurretteBradshaw, Mrs. Merrick clerked for the Honorable Dennis W. Dohnal, United States Magistrate Judge, in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, in Richmond.
