Hans A. Van Winkle is President of Hill's Domestic Project Management Group (Americas). He has more than 35 years of experience in engineering, operations, construction and project management. Prior to joining Hill, Mr. Van Winkle was the Director of the Construction Industry Institute, a non-profit consortium that is part of the University of Texas at Austin's College of Engineering, whose mission is to enhance the business effectiveness and sustainability of the construction process through research, related initiatives, and industry alliances. Before that, Mr. Van Winkle spent more than 30 years in various positions with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, eventually rising to Deputy Commander of the Corps from 2001 to 2003. He retired from the Army as a Major Gerneral in 2003.
Mr. Van Winkle earned his B.S. in engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and his M.P.P. in public policy from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a registered professional engineer in Virginia, and he is a member of the National Academy of Construction. |
