Dr. Harri Kytomaa is Corporate Vice President and Director of Exponent's Thermal Sciences practice specializing in thermal sciences. Much of his work is with the power generation chemical marine petroleum and paper industries. His research includes analysis of thermal/fluid processes fire and explosion analysis analysis of duct and pipe systems and the characterization of hazardous waste. He also focuses on issues related to hydraulic and pneumatic machinery power plants including boilers and turbines and instrumentation for flow diagnostics. Dr. Kytomaa has held several academic research and consulting positions including Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Visiting Professor at the Helsinki University of Technology; Visiting Professor at the DOE Pacific Northwest Laboratory in Washington; and most recently Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology. |
