Harry F. Murphy is a Director in the Tax Strategies group at Kreischer Miller, where he provides tax planning and consultation to our tax clients. He has extensive experience and background in estate planning, corporate taxation, reorganizations, mergers, and acquisitions, as well as foreign tax matters.
Harry graduated with honors from Temple University with a Bachelor of Science degree and has done graduate work in business planning at American University. He earned a degree of Masters of Science in Taxation from the School of Management of Widener University. Prior to joining Kreischer Miller, Harry was a Founding Director of Hege Kramer Connell Murphy & Goldkamp. He also was previously a tax partner with KPMG and KMG Main Hurdman, in charge of the Philadelphia office's tax department. He was Chairman of KMG Main Hurdman's national technical tax committee on consolidated tax returns and the related regulations.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a former member of both the National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives, and the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council. He is a frequent speaker to various business and professional groups. In addition, Harry has contributed to publications and has had articles published in the Philadelphia Business Journal. He has also been awarded the Hall of Fame Award from Temple University.
Harry served two years of active duty with the United States Army at Fort Benning, Georgia, the Home of the Infantry. He has served on a variety of church boards as president, treasurer or board member, and as officer or board member in other civic organizations. He presently is a foundation trustee and an advisor to the Awbury Arboretum. |
