Harry Hawks is executive vice president and chief financial officer of Hearst-Argyle Television.
Hawks oversees all aspects of the Company's financial accounting tax risk management investor relations administrative and financial-instruments compliance matters. In addition he is actively engaged in various of the Company�s strategic initiatives including M&A IT digital media and minority investments.
Hawks has been with the Company since the combination of Hearst Broadcasting and Argyle Television Inc. in August 1997. He served in a similar capacity as a member of the founding management of Argyle Television Inc. and its related entities from 1992.
Prior to Argyle Hawks was active in venture capital and merchant banking as co-founder of Cumberland Capital Corporation. Prior to Cumberland Hawks also held various corporate finance positions with Thomson McKinnon Securities and Bank of Montreal.
Hawks is a member of the National Association of Broadcasters Financial Executives International the Broadcast-Cable Financial Management Association the National Association of Corporate Directors and the American Society of Corporate Secretaries. He serves on the board of directors of Internet Broadcasting.
A native of New Orleans La. Hawks received his BS (�75) and MBA (�77) from Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge. He is a 1976 recipient of the Small Business Administration Regional Award for excellence in small business consulting. He was inducted into LSU�s Hall of Distinction in 2002 and was elected to its College of Business Dean�s Advisory Council in 2005.
Hawks is active in several community educational and religious not-for-profit organizations in New York and Connecticut. |
