Haruyasu Asakura is a Managing Director in the Asia Growth Capital Group. He also serves as head of the Japan Growth Capital team and is based in Tokyo.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Asakura was one of the founding partners of Apax Globis Partners & Co., a private equity investment firm created in Japan as an affiliate of Apax Partners. In that role, he was responsible for IT, telecom and buyout areas, and closed four investments and completed one exit transaction as lead partner. Prior to Apax Globis, he was Deputy Manager of the ISS Investment Management Department at Mitsubishi Corporation, where he was responsible for private equity investment, corporate development, and various strategic business activities in the IT, telecom, and healthcare services industries.
Mr. Asakura received his M.B.A. from Harvard University, BSEE from Keio University.
