Heather Hamel joined the WMUR news team in October 2005 as a general assignment reporter. She spent three years in Charleston, S.C., at CBS affiliate WCSC. There, she covered everything from Hurricane Katrina to a high school drug raid that got international attention. She also worked in Plattsburgh, N.Y., at WMUR's sister station WPTZ/WNNE, serving as anchor, reporter and producer. She started her career in journalism at WKXL news talk radio in Concord. As a New England native, Heather is glad to be back home. She was born and raised in Glocester, R.I., and is a graduate of Lyndon State College in Vermont. Her move to New Hampshire also puts her closer to friends and family. She likes hiking and exploring nature's hidden treasures, and working out. She and her husband live in Manchester with their three cats. |
