Biography Upon retiring from a successful 25 year career as an orthopaedic surgeon, Chip joins MICG as a consultant on the healthcare industry and individual financial wellness and fitness.Having received his education from Princeton University, the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Harvard Medical School, Chip began his orthopaedic surgery practice in Newport News in 1982. He founded Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Specialists of Hampton Roads and has been recognized regionally and nationally for innovations in hip and knee surgery as well as entrepreneurship in the business of medicine, especially as it relates to electronic automation of the medical office and ancillary services.Chip�s commitment to sharing his gifts and experience with the community is evident in his civic activities. He has served on special Mayor�s committees dealing with small business development and physician recruitment. Education is important to him and he served on the Board of Governors at Christopher Newport University from 1996 to 2005, eventually presiding as Rector. Chip is the founding and current Chairman of the Board of Hampton Roads Country Day School and also participates on the boards of Hampton Roads Academy and the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula.An advocate of all types of athletic activities, Chip has coached youth soccer and basketball, and has been the assistant middle school softball coach at Hampton Roads Academy. He was instrumental in the development of the Trieshmann Fitness Pavilion at CNU. He enjoys water sports, exercising and pursuing the elusive mastery of the game of golf. |
