Dr. Perry is recognized as one of the leading corneal and refractive surgeons in the United States; he is internationally renowned and lectures throughout the world. He is a nationally recognized expert in diseases and surgery of the cornea and corneal pathology. He has also written over 170 papers and books on corneal and refractive surgery. Dr. Perry is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and winner of the senior honor award and honor award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Perry received his Bachelor's degree from Hofstra University cum laude and his Medical Degree with honors from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
After completing his residency at the Nassau County Medical Center and the University of Pennsylvania Schcie Eye Institute, Dr. Perry completed fellowships in Ophthalmic Pathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington D.C., in cornea and external disease at the cornea service of the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard University, and cornea research at Eye Research Institute of Retina Foundation. Dr. Perry has served as Attending Surgeon and Consultant for numerous hospitals including, North Shore University Hospital, New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, Winthrop University Hospital, Nassau County Medical Society, Mercy Hospital, John T. Mather Memorial Hospital and Long Island Jewish, Hillside Medical Center. Currently, Dr. Perry is the Chief of Cornea Service at North Shore University Hospital and Nassau County Medical Center. He serves as the Director of the Research Pathology Laboratories of the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and is Medical Director of the Lions Eye Bank for Long Island at North Shore University Hospital.
Dr. Perry is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Association of Ophthalmic Pathologists and is a member of several professional societies including, the American Medical Association, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, Nassau County Medical Society, New York State Medical Society and the International Society of Refractive Keratoplasty.
