Dr. Spotnitz is the Professor of Surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center George H. Humphreys II and Vice chairman Research and Information Systems. He specializes in adult cardiac surgery and pacemaker and defibrillator implantation including infants and children. Dr. Spotnitz is author of more than 160 peer reviewed publications former member of the NIH Surgery and Bioengineering Study Section past president of the New York Society for Thoracic Surgery and current president of the Surgical Biology Club of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery. His current research focuses on optimization of biventricular pacing for acute and chronic heart failure as well as effects of surgery for congenital heart disease on ventricular mechanics. |
