Dr. Rom brings to Double Fusion vast experience in product development, from ideation to launch, in various leadership roles. Dr. Rom was a Member of the Technical Staff at the Jet Propulsion Lab of NASA/Caltech, where he played a key role in the Automated Speech Visualization task. Dr. Rom was the Head of Software Development of I.C. Vision developing real-time systems to handle dynamic billboard advertisements in live TV sports broadcasts. He then moved on to lead the Nendo project at Nichimen Graphics Inc. where he developed the core engine of the product and led the team which created several innovative applications based on this engine, including a game for Nintendo. He then held the Director of Research and Development position at BioMediCom where he led the development of the SonoReal product, which transforms any conventional ultrasound into a 3D rendering. Before founding Double Fusion, Dr. Rom was co-founder and CTO of 3dMe. 3dMe delivered state-of-the-art technology producing live real-time animations of high quality talking 3D characters for PC and mobile applications. Dr. Rom received his Doctorate in Computer Science from the University of Southern California in 1993. He also holds a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, and a M.Sc. degree in Computer Science, both from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. |
