During her time at Backstage, she has supervised and managed recon and cataloging projects in multiple languages. Her duties included hiring and training data technicians specializing in non-Roman languages, quality assurance, managing non-Roman teams, initial profiling, working with clients, original cataloging in various languages, etc. Some of the projects Hong has worked on include: Recon: Columbia University - Starr East Asia Library, the University of Hong Kong - Fung Ping Shan Library, the University of Washington - Gallagher Law Library, Johns Hopkins SAIS Nanjing Center Library, University of Michigan Law Library, University of Iowa Library.
