As vice president, Maize Product Development, Dr. Grant is responsible for inbred and hybrid creation and evaluation, and hybrid characterization, advancement and knowledge transfer. Ian is a member of the Pioneer Research Leadership Team, North America Leadership Team and the GreenLeaf Genetics Members' Committee. Ian joined Pioneer as a canola research director in 1991 and transferred to corn research in 1997. He later became the product commercialization and characterization director for Europe, located in Toulouse, France. He was appointed worldwide director of product characterization and commercialization in 2000. He was named a Pioneer vice president in 2002 and was appointed President of Pioneer Hi-Bred Limited, Canada, in 2007. Ian earned his doctorate in plant breeding and genetics from the University of Guelph. |
