Idil Oyman brings to CLS her experience in public affairs, government relations and political and corporate communications. Her areas of expertise include international trade and tax issues. Since joining the firm in April 2005, Ms. Oyman has led media outreach for domestic corporate clients, including Americans for Secure Retirement, a coalition developed by CLS to raise the level of debate on retirement security issues and promote tax incentives for retirement vehicles, as well as for a financial services company promoting its mortgage insurance line. Ms. Oyman also manages media relations for the Office of the President of the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville) and the Government of Ecuador in support of their U.S. political and economic objectives. Prior to her work at CLS, Ms. Oyman spent three years as Communications Director for Ways and Means Committee member U.S. Rep. Phil English (R-PA). Previous to that, Ms. Oyman managed communications at the International Republican Institute, worked on various public affairs accounts in the International and Political Affairs Group at Fleishman-Hillard, reported on U.S.-Japan trade issues for ITOCHU International, and worked as a junior lobbyist on various issues with a local boutique government relations firm. Ms. Oyman is a native of Philadelphia and has a Master of Arts in Government focusing on Communications from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from American University. Ms. Oyman is proficient in Turkish and has studied French. |
