Dr. Irvin D. Reid is President of Wayne State University. He has held this position since 1997. The university is Michigan's third largest and the nation's twenty-first largest university. It is one of only 59 public research institutions nation-wide that have achieved Carnegie I designation. Wayne State has an annual budget of nearly $350 million and more than 31,000 students. Programs of instruction are offered through 14 schools and colleges including medicine, law, pharmacy and engineering.
