Dr. Goldstein is a tenured professor at the University of Michigan Medical School and was Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies there for 13 years. Irwin is one of the world�s leading authorities on sugar-binding molecules and is a pioneer in the discovery, isolation, production, and application of plant-based lectins. Over the last 45 years, he has written and co-written more than 270 scientific papers relating to carbohydrate-binding molecules. In addition, he has served on five journal editorial boards, including the Journal of Biological Chemistry and Carbohydrate Research. Dr. Goldstein received his B.A. in Chemistry from Syracuse University and his Ph. D. in Biochemistry from the University of Minnesota. |
