Jack C. Parnell is a governmental relations consultant in the Sacramento office.
Jack frequently represents clients of the firm before federal and state administrative agencies such as the United States Department of Agriculture, the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the California Department of Fish and Game. His many activities also include service on the Board of Directors for Neogen, Inc., a bio-tech firm located in Lansing, Michigan, and the Farmers Insurance Group, Inc., in Los Angeles, California. He is also frequently engaged as a motivational speaker for various organizations throughout the country.
Prior to associating with the firm, Jack served as the Director of the California Department of Fish and Game (1984-1987) and Secretary of the California Department of Food and Agriculture (1987-1989). Jack was appointed by President George Bush as Deputy Secretary of the United States Department of Agriculture (1989-1991). Jack also served as a member of the California Air Resources Board as an appointee of Governor Pete Wilson.
His many awards include the Distinguished Service Award from the California Farm Bureau Federation, the Outstanding Leadership Award from the Agricultural Council of California, 2002 Livestock Man of the Year from the California Chamber of Commerce, honorary membership in Alpha Zeta, a national honorary agricultural fraternity, and Outstanding Service Resolutions from both Houses of the California State Legislature.
