As chief executive officer of Converse, Inc., Jack Boys leads the team that turned around one of the most enduring American icons. Jack successfully led the integration of Converse with Nike, Inc. after Nike acquired the company in 2003, and is responsible for working with his Nike partners to continue building and developing the Converse brand. One of Jacks main goals is to turn Converse into a multi-category sports and lifestyle brand by leveraging Nikes product strength, sports marketing and long-term strategic planning.
Jack has worked in athletic footwear, apparel and outdoor specialty products since the early 1980s. His background includes regional assignments in Western Europe, Asia and the United States. Within the industry, he has had executive responsibility for mergers, acquisitions and public offerings. He also has extensive business start-up and operational management experience.
Outside of Nike, Jack enjoys spending time with his family. He also has a passion for studying foreign cultures, and is a voracious reader of other peoples ways of life, their histories, cultures and religions.
The coolest thing about working at Nike, according to Jack, is that "ideas grow here." For example, he said Nike's acquisition of this ninety-eight year old brand presented a tremendous opportunity for Converse to leverage the strategic and operational excellence of a Fortune 500 company to help expedite its growth trajectory. "The Nike/Converse acquisition is an amazing accomplishment for our company, a very proud moment and a humbling triumph," he said. "We have a shared vision for the future of this enduring global American icon. Together we will co-author the next century". |
