Jack's adept use of benchmarking and extensive experience in process redesign enables his clients to achieve significant labor cost reductions while at the same time improving operational performance and quality outcomes. He has led the implementation of performance improvement and innovative solutions to complex business problems for numerous organizations.

Prior to joining Huron Jack was a Senior Vice President at Wellspring Partners now a Huron Consulting Group Practice. Previously Jack served as Vice President and Practice Leader for Operations Improvement at Superior Consultant Company Senior Manager in the Business Consulting Practice at Arthur Andersen LLP Director in VHA Consulting Services at Voluntary Hospitals of America and Director of Management Engineering at both Alta Bates Corporation and Mercy San Juan Hospital in northern California.
Representative examples of Jack's engagement experience include:
Served as Project Manager for a two-hospital alliance located in the Northeast. This project included implementation of organizational restructuring development of a campus and clinical integration plan a labor cost reduction redesign of the medical management program revenue cycle improvement and a non-labor cost reduction initiative. Results included an $8M annual reduction in operating costs and revenue enhancement.
Served as primary consultant for labor improvement initiatives for a two-hospital integrated delivery system located in the Southwest. Responsibilities included implementation of a labor productivity management system productivity benchmarking against a national database and development of department-specific performance improvement plans to achieve benchmark staffing levels. Results included a $10M reduction in labor costs.
Directed productivity improvement projects at over 100 hospitals to aggressively reduce labor costs by up to 15% supported by operational improvement plans. Tactics included consolidation of services reengineering and business process redesign productivity benchmarking development of staffing grids and organizational restructuring.
