Jack Vaughn began his career with Westin Hotels, his last two responsibilities being General Manager of the Continental Plaza in Chicago and the Century Plaza hotel in Los Angeles.
Vaughn joined Opryland in 1975 with responsibility for the concept, design, construction and staffing of the Opryland Hotel and Convention Center.
Gaylord Opryland is the flagship of Gaylord Hotels with its 2,883 rooms, 300,000 square feet of exhibit space (the largest in-hotel self contained exhibit facility in the nation outside of Las Vegas) and 96 meeting rooms, comprising one of the most successful meeting and convention hotels in the world. He retired from Gaylord as Chairman Emeritus Opryland Hospitality Group with Gaylord Florida under construction and Gaylord Texas and Washington DC on the boards.
Respected as one of the premier leaders in the Hospitality and Attractions Industry, Vaughn has been recognized as Independent Hotelier of the World, a Convention Liaison Council Hall of Leaders Inductee and Distinguished Service Award from the International Exhibitors Association. He has honorary doctorate degrees from Johnson and Wales and Cumberland Universities and is a past board member of the Oklahoma State University and Tennessee State University�s School of Hotel Administration. He has chaired AH&LA�s Educational Institute, Resort Committee, was its Chief Delegate and Treasurer to the Convention Liaison Council, chaired the nations Trade Show Bureau and is a Trustee for life of the American Hotel Foundation.
Vaughn�s LLC holds hotel management contracts and has offices in Nashville, Tennessee and Las Vegas, Nevada. |
