One of Jackie's first accomplishments at KERO23 was initiating the 23Leadership Award; weekly stories that set the standard in Kern County for reporting on people volunteering their time to make their community a better place to live.
Jackie's greatest satisfaction comes from participating in events and fundraisers and covering stories involving children, especially those that improve children's lives. Some of the organizations that have benefited from Jackie's involvement include St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, M.A.R.E., and Make-A-Wish.
Born and raised in Washington State, Jackie attended the University of Washington where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. She has been anchoring and
reporting in Bakersfield since 1989.
In 1996 Jackie married her KERO-23 News Director and anchor Todd Karli. Todd and Jackie live with their children Jack and Anika in northwest Bakersfield. |
