Jacqueline (Jackie) Engel graduated from the Honors Program at the University of Denver in 1989, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She then received a Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1992, after being admitted with honors. While at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, she was active in law review activities which included participation as a staff writer on the Pacific Law Journal Review of Selected 1990 California Legislation, authoring a published article entitled If You Play, You Pay: Unknown Hazards for Successor Corporations Under CERCLA, and serving as the Managing Editor of Volume 23 of the Pacific Law Journal. After graduating from law school, Ms. Engel returned to Colorado, where she has practiced in the areas of employment law, health maintenance organization licensing and compliance, hospital law, health care law, and medical malpractice defense. Immediately prior to joining Kennedy Christopher Childs & Fogg, P.C., Ms. Engel was the Assistant General Counsel at Denver Health and Hospital Authority. Her practice now focuses on medical malpractice defense, hospital defense and risk management, and defense of long-term care facilities. She has been a member of the Colorado Bar since 1992, and is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the District of Colorado and the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. |
