Jacques Robinson is Senior Vice President and Managing Director for IHS's International Division.
An engineering graduate of Bristol University in the United Kingdom, he has more than 25 years experience in the oil and gas industry.
In 1980, Jacques joined BP where he was involved in production, drilling and development engineering in the North Sea in both the UK and Norway before moving into International prospect evaluation (utilising IHS data.)
Following roles with James Capel Petroleum Services and then with HSBC Energy lending, one of the world's largest banking and financial institutions, Jacques joined British Gas (BG) as an Asset Development Manager for the Southern North Sea. His promotion to International Operations Manager brought responsibility for developing non-operated and joint-venture assets in Russia, Thailand, Qatar, Egypt and Tunisia.
He was then appointed General Manager for BG Tunisia, where he led the performance transformation of the offshore Miskar gas field and Hannibal onshore gas terminal. This was followed by a move to Trinidad, where he served as Vice President of BG and President and General Manager for BG Trinidad and Tobago. In that capacity, he was responsible for the operation of the offshore Dolphin gas field and was a Director for Atlantic LNG Train 1. He was also responsible for gaining client, partner and government approval for Atlantic LNG Trains 2 and 3 and developing the BG-operated, offshore North Coast gas fields.
More recently he worked as an independent consultant and as General Manager-U.K. for Perth based Resource Investment Strategy Consultants (RISC), prior to joining IHS.
Jacques is a Chartered Engineer, a member the Institute of Energy and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. |
