As the Director of Product Design and Development, Jagadha is the outward-facing representative to the numerous artisan communities World of Good works with around the world. As a buyer, she instills basic business thinking skills in the artisans - helping them with costing and pricing, design and aesthetics, and quality and consistency. She drives groups to re-think their product development process by helping them focus on products that have appeal to the US consumer market, while still retaining their traditional craft making process. Prior to World of Good, Jagadha spent three months working in an artisan community in Rajasthan, India and helped build a successful launch strategy for SuVyapar, an artisan focused venture. These experiences help her assimilate the unique day-to-day challenges faced by the various groups. Jagadha believes that the creation of sustainable living wage opportunities is key to individual and community empowerment, long-term economic development and poverty alleviation. |
