James A. Foster is a partner in the firm�s Chicago office and is engaged in the practice of civil litigation, with primary emphasis on products liability and transportation litigation. He has substantial trial experience with complex litigation matters in both state and federal courts. He has represented manufacturers of various products as diverse as automatic doors and road grinders at trial. He has spoken on the use of decision tree analysis in the assessment of claims at the REBEX 1998 conference and on the coordination of the legal defense for corporations on a national basis at the 11th Annual Product Liability Conference at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Department of Engineering. Mr. Foster has published numerous articles for various publications including Restatement (Third) of Tort: Product Liability entitled "Manufacturers Beware: The Attack on Product Warnings, and for the 2002 Edition of the DRI Hand and Power Tool Newsletter, Torts: Product Liability entitled "Manufacturers Beware: The Restatement Imposes A Duty to Warn for a Product That Isn't Defective At Sale." Mr. Foster has presented at Mock Trial at REBEX 2001, RIMS Chapters, entitled, "Issues Presented by a Plaintiff Claiming Both Sexual and Age Discrimination", published-February, 2002 edition of Risk Management Magazine; 2002 Strategic Research Institute's Advanced Technologies for Online Claims Processing & Management on the issue of the effect of 9/11/01 litigation; Mock Trial at REBEX 2002, RIMS Chapters entitled, "Liability Issues in the Wake of Enron", published -February, 2003 edition of Risk Management Magazine. |
