Description of Practice:
Jim is an associate in our bankruptcy & creditors' rights group based in the Orange County office. His experience includes the representation of a variety of clients, including chapter 11 debtors, secured lenders, mortgage companies, landlords, bankruptcy trustees and various business enterprises. He has appeared and/or litigated various bankruptcy issues in several bankruptcy courts.
Prior to joining the firm, Jim was an associate in the general financial services group for a leading firm in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Prior to being an associate in Philadelphia, Jim was the full time judicial law clerk to the Honorable Judge Leslie J. Tchaikovsky in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California, Oakland Division.
Jim is admitted to practice in all federal districts in the State of California. He has also authored or co-authored articles for several publications, including The Bankruptcy Strategist and The Bankruptcy Developments Journal.
Educational History:
Jim received his J.D., with honors, from Emory University School of Law in 2001, where he was a director of the Homeless Advocacy Project and the executive articles editor of the Bankruptcy Developments Journal. While at Emory, among other things, James was a clinical extern for United States District Court Judge Julie E. Carnes in the United States District Court of the Northern District of Georgia. Jim received his B.A., with honors, in Communication with a minor in English from Rutgers University in 1998. |
