As Senior Principal Research Scientist with Honeywell, Inc., Jim Gardner developed new technologies and published numerous technical papers which pioneered the computer-based simulation and training systems in use today for military pilots and aircraft maintenance technicians. During this period, he served as a member of the Advisory Panel on Logistics to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Chaired the Simulation and Training Subcommittee of the National Security Industrial Association, and served on the Advisory Board of the Institute for Simulation and Training at the University of Central Florida. Jim led the development of new unmanned air vehicle systems as Vice President of Business Development for Lear Siegler and later GEC Marconi. In 1992 he became Vice President of Integrated Avionic Systems for AlliedSignal, and in 1998 he was appointed as corporate Vice President for Business Development and Management of the Astronautics Corporation of America and its subsidiary Kearfott Guidance & Navigation Corporation. Jim attended Purdue University and graduated from Indiana University in 1970 with a B.A. in mathematics and psychology. He received his M.S. in 1972 and his Ph.D. in 1974 in Human Factors Engineering from North Carolina State University. |
