Mr. Kirkwood possesses extensive management experience in the areas of manufacturing, operational logistics, and finance. He utilizes these disciplines to develop Kionix's strategic initiatives as they relate to the execution of the Company's overall operational and performance goals.
Before joining Kionix in 2001, he was President & CEO of Wilcox Press, Inc., a $38 million commercial printing company in Ithaca, New York. While at Wilcox, Mr. Kirkwood was successful in turning the struggling operation from a $2 million loss to two consecutive years of pretax profit in excess of $1 million.
Mr. Kirkwood received his B.A. in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting from Gettysburg College, and he earned his CPA certification while at Arthur Andersen & Company in Boston, Massachusetts. He subsequently served the Pyramid Companies of Syracuse, NY, as Controller, where he managed a $300 million construction project, and was Vice President of Finance at Felix Schoeller Technical Papers, a $120M paper manufacturer located in Pulaski, NY.
Mr. Kirkwood oversees the Company's interaction with OEM's, vendors, lending institutions, and shareholders. Additionally, he manages all operational aspects of the Company's manufacturing facilities, which includes over 30,000 sq. ft. of clean rooms utilized for wafer fabrication and product testing. He is an officer of the Company and serves as Secretary of the Corporation. |
