James C. Swanson joined Morton International, Inc. in 1992 as director of sales for Powder Coatings. He was elected vice president and named general manager of Powder Coatings in 1996.
Rohm and Haas Company purchased Morton International in 1999, and elected Mr. Swanson a company vice president and member of its Leadership Council. He served as business director for Powder Coatings until 2002. At that time, he was named to his present position of general manager for Paint and Coatings Materials, North America.
Before joining Morton International, Mr. Swanson held various positions in engineering, sales and marketing for Air Products and Chemicals from 1979 to 1992. Previously, he held engineering positions at both Celanese Chemical (1977-1979) and Texaco, Inc. (1975-1977).
Mr. Swanson earned a B.S. degree (1975) in Civil Engineering from Syracuse University. Later he received an MBA from Wilkes University (1991).
