Jim Schroeder is a member of Mayer Brown�s Supreme Court and Appellate Practice group. He has briefed and argued dozens of appeals in federal and state appellate courts around the country; has been the principal brief writer for many party and amicus briefs in the US Supreme Court; and has briefed numerous dispositive motions in trial courts and arbitration proceedings. Jim�s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, including accountants� liability, securities, antitrust, lender liability, and business torts, as well as class certification.
Before joining Mayer Brown, Jim served as Senior Staff Attorney for the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in Chicago (1985-1988), as an instructor at the DePaul University College of Law (1984-1985), and as Staff Law Clerk for the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit (1983-1985).
