James C. Shevlet, Jr. is a Managing Director of Carlyle and Co-Head of Carlyle Mezzanine Partners, L.P. He is based in Los Angeles.
Prior to joining Carlyle in September 2003, Mr. Shevlet was a Senior Vice President with TCW/Crescent Mezzanine Partners and Trust Company of the West, where he was responsible for investing and managing a portfolio of mezzanine capital across three private limited partnerships.
Prior to joining TCW, Mr. Shevlet was a Vice President and Principal of Pacific Mezzanine Investors, LLC, where he analyzed and structured a variety of private debt and equity transactions. Mr. Shevlet has over 16 years of experience in the private debt and equity markets. Mr. Shevlet is currently a member of the Board of Directors of United Road Towing, Inc. and a Board Observer of Comark Building Systems, Inc., International Aluminum Corporation, Mattress Giant Corporation and Specialty Manufacturing, Inc.
Mr. Shevlet graduated with distinction from the University of Michigan and received his M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. |
