Professional Experience
Mr. Sloan�s practice focuses on business and intellectual property litigation.
He has represented clients ranging from individuals to Fortune 500 companies in a wide variety of complex business disputes involving antitrust, contracts, defamation, fiduciary obligations, officer/director liability, products liability, real estate, securities fraud and unfair competition. Mr. Sloan is experienced in all aspects of civil litigation in state and federal courts, including discovery, law and motion practice, mediation, arbitration and trial.
Mr. Sloan also has substantial experience in the areas of copyright, trademarks, trade secrets and related Lanham Act and right of publicity claims. He has represented clients in the entertainment, manufacturing, technology and telecommunications industries in copyright disputes involving artwork, computer software, fabric and furniture designs, literary works and motion pictures. He has successfully sought injunctive relief and used provisions of the DMCA to prevent widespread infringement over the internet. He has also helped protect trademarks and trade secrets from theft and unauthorized transfer to competitors by seeking injunctive relief, impoundment of counterfeit products and compensatory damages. Mr. Sloan also has experience litigating patent infringement disputes.
