James E. Ferguson joined Spain & Gillon, L.L.C. in 2006 to head up the firm�s management side employment law practice. He has practiced corporate and employment law for over twenty years. A 1986 honors graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law, he is a member of the Alabama State Bar and Birmingham Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute (DRI), the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, and the Employment Law Section of the American Bar Association. He has also served as a Speaker and Program Coordinator, Council on Education in Management; and as Special Deputy Attorney General, State of Alabama, and has received the highest ranking available (A/V) from the peer review Mr. Ferguson is admitted to all state and federal courts in Alabama, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. His experience also includes resolution of matters through alternative dispute resolution (ADR) including mediation, arbitration, and administrative hearings, and he has completed mediator training through the American Arbitration Association. The firm�s management employment law practice focuses on pro-active risk reduction strategies, as well as the effective resolution of employment, compliance, and commercial law issues through analysis, planning, research, counsel, negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and litigation. |
